Sept 18Yee-haw, indeed.
So, Barrel Fest was a blast. There were tornado warnings all around us, and many of the bands moved to the relative safety of indoors, but we brusked it and played our entire set (and then some) outdoors. It was a fun time, and a good experience. Sadly, the threatening weather did seem to keep the crowds huddled safely in their hovels, and not out in the park shaking their groove things... but we still had fun.
Also: HOLY SHIT! THE ALBUM IS DONE!!!
And there it is, just to the right, in living color ==>
You can always buy one is from a band member, so come see us the next time we play out, or for the out-of-towners, there's an option to buy an album and have it shipped to you down below--and we'll add a sticker to your order (online or in person) for just $2.
So, the show at The Barrel Saloon was frickin' awesome. There was a lot of pickin' and a-grinin', cussin' and lovin', fuckin' and fightin'... Hell, we had 'em out there steppin' and fetchin' like there heads was on fire and their asses was catchin!
It was part of their month long Battle of the Bands, but there's no word yet on weather or not we'll be back for the finals. Fingers crossed that we'll be back there in 10 days to funk up their country again. I like the way they do the battles. It's judged and not by fan vote... so some group of 19 year olds cant haul in 75 of their friends and win even though they don't know an A minor from their ass hole. Plus, even if we don't make it to the next round, we got to play an hour at a very cool place. Hopefully we'll be back there again soon, even if it's not as part of this Barrelfest Battle of the Bands.
In albumy-type news: The artwork is done, templates are loaded and ready to be sent to print. Now I'm just waiting for the final "Bootleg Bonus Tracks" to be polished up and the master CD to be burnt, which should happen mid-week. So by the end of the week we ought to have it all sent out for production. Are You Now or Have You Ever Been should be for sale sometime mid-September!MORE

The Ernst Project (or parts of it) will be performing at The Happy Cappuccino on Jay St, Sunday June 23rd from 12-2. It'll be a stripped down set outside on Jay St. We'll move inside if it rains, so either way, come on out and see us do some of our old tunes, a couple new tunes, and you'll even get to hear some solo stuff from The Almighty Ernst himself.
